Always5Star look at the Park Hyatt Hadahaa Maldives Sunset Villa (Over the Water)

A look at the romantic Park Sunset Over-The-Water Villa

Walkway to the 14 over-the-water Villas

When you are traveling across the world, and have dreamed about visiting the Maldives on a private island, you are probably hoping for an over-the-top experience. You should consider staying in an over-the-water villa. The Park Hyatt Hadahaa in the Maldives offers 14 over-the-water villas. Seven villas are located at the end of the pier/jetty and are situated so that they receive full sunset views. These rooms are called Park Sunset Villas. The rooms are designed so that the expansive floor to ceiling windows highlight and maximize the Indian Ocean’s sunset.

I had the opportunity to stay in villa 49 and it is angled to maximize the sunset view. A tip: Villa 51 is the prime spot as it is the last villa and had complete unobstructed views. Consider planning ahead and requesting this room when making your reservations.

The other seven villas are named Park Water Villas. They are also over-the-water, but do not have the full sunset views. The villas are the first seven located on the pier. All fourteen villas have similar interior and exterior design. The villas are quite large and have plenty of space. There is a large deck area with lounge chairs and an extended area that has a large bed-like cushion to relax comfortably while enjoying the 180 degree views of the ocean.

One of the best features of this room is the bathroom and the large soaking tub. The tub is a highlight as it is located next to a full window that allows for beautiful views of the water while taking a bath. There is a double sink as well as an indoor separate shower with skylight.

My favorite part of the room – the bathtub at night looking over the water

An advantage to staying in the Park Water Villas is the access to the water. Snorkeling from your deck puts you instantly at the reef to view the ocean life. This little island boasts a pristine reef with fantastic corals and fish. While snorkeling right near my room, I was able to spot a turtle, a ray, and a baby shark! What a fantastic experience!

The villas are designed to be private, however, they are angled in such a way that the villa behind you and in front of you gets in the way of complete privacy. I didn’t notice this as being an issue for my husband and I, but something to be aware of.

Final Thoughts:

When I first checked into the Park Sunset villa, I wasn’t sure that it would be worth the large difference in price from the Park Villas on the island. The villas on the island offer direct access to the beach, as well as additional privacy, that I found to be quite desirable. An important note: The villas are showing a little wear and tear from the weather. In my villa, the glass was slightly marred, the deck needed a little stain, and the cushions could have been updated. Minor issues that did not deter me from enjoying the overall impression of this stay. I mention this as it can cause one to pause if you expecting a perfect five star luxury experience. After a lovely day of snorkeling off the balcony, soaking in a large tub with spectacular views, and enjoying the sunset from our large cushions on the deck, I was very satisfied! I can’t imagine not having this momentous experience. It is imprinted in my mind forever!

5 Star Tips🌟:

🌟 Request to be situated toward the end of the pier.

🌟 Bring beach towels from the pool area or call room service and request them. They are not usually provided in the room.

🌟 Order room service at sunset! You won’t want to miss having the opportunity to fully enjoy these moments.

🌟 Watch for the tides and try to time your snorkeling when it is high tide. This allows for easier access from the room’s ladder. At other times, it can be too shallow and you do not want to damage yourself or the coral.

🌟 After sunset, request candles and matches, fill up your tub with bubbles, order a bottle of champagne and enjoy your ultimate romantic setting!

Park Water Sunset rates an Always 5 Star: 4.5 star rating…the last star didn’t glimmer because the villa does need some updating…otherwise it was perfect! Cheers! 🌟🌟🌟🌟

What a way to enjoy a sunset on the Indian Ocean!

**I was not compensated in any way for this post. My opinions are completely my own based on my experiences which I paid entirely for myself.
