Always5Star Guide To A Relaxing Escape At The Oasis Spa At The Grand Hyatt Taipei, Taiwan

A luxury vacation just isn’t complete without a visit to the spa. I am all for taking time out for a treatment during a trip; I think it’s a necessity! Flying and being on the go can wear down even the most experienced traveler. Indulge in the serenity of a gorgeous spa and feel the tension and stress melt away.

To stretch out the kinks and tight muscles of a long flight, exercise is an excellent remedy. The Grand Hyatt Taipei offers a must-visit spa and a workout room with a variety of classes.

Work out while enjoying views of the city with state-of-the-art equipment

The well appointed 24-hour gym has everything you might need to get the heart pumping including the latest and best machines featuring video equipment to assist you, plus an exercise studio where guests can take classes such as Yoga, Pilates, and Body Sculpting to name a few. The state-of-the-art fitness center is clean, spacious, and modern.

There is a sauna, steam room, plus whirlpools in case your idea of working out is luxuriating in a quiet setting.

5StarTip๐ŸŒŸ for enjoying the spa facilities:

๐ŸŒŸ Reservations:

Make reservations as soon as you arrive at the hotel or before your arrival.

I made reservations for 11am which was an optimum time to go, the spa gets crowded during the afternoon.

Ask about a discount for booking early morning massages. This discount is available depending on the occupancy of the hotel.

๐ŸŒŸ Arrive early:

Arrive early so that you can enjoy the facilities. You don’t want to miss the whirlpools (featuring a microbubble system and a jet system). The steam and sauna rooms will help ease the tension in your body before a massage.

Men and womenโ€™s areas are separate.

๐ŸŒŸ Be Naked:

Bathing suits are not allowed when using the whirlpools, steam, and sauna rooms. Leave your bathing suit in the locker. This took a little adjustment for me, as I am quite shy and private…but go for it…I did.

Relaxation is the key!

๐ŸŒŸ Coupleโ€™s Massage:

If you are with a significant other, take advantage of the coupleโ€™s massage. My husband was kind enough to agree to this, and afterward, he congratulated me on reserving the treatment. It was wonderful to have this relaxing experience together. We both felt rejuvenated!

Couples massage room was amazing!

๐ŸŒŸ Locker Room:

I was impressed with the well-equipped locker rooms! There is everything you need to leave the spa and walk back into real life. The lockers are a good size with hangers and room for shoes, clothes, a purse/tote bag, and other essentials.

Showers include dispensers which offer soap, shampoo, and conditioner. You will also enjoy the blow dryers and plenty of mirrors and space to apply makeup, lotion, etc.

Wonderful amenities and decor to help with relaxation throughout the spa facility.

The spa is located on the 5th floor of the hotel, next to the gym and pool area. You can make this an all-day spa experience by hitting the gym, taking a long swim, sitting in the sauna or steam room, then enjoying a spa service.

Please note: Be sure to eat a good meal before you go because there is no food available. A small relaxation room offers tea and water. Some massage packages include a snack.

Final Thoughts:

If you are staying at the Grand Hyatt Taipei and are wavering about the spa, do it! Our 90-minute couplesโ€™ massage was not only soothing and relaxing, but it was also very affordable, the prices were a bit less than most US spas.

In addition to fabulous massages, the spa offers facials, mud wraps, and more. The blissful environment is the ideal antidote to the hustle of visiting a bustling city like Taipei.
