Hyatt Zilara Cancun – All-Inclusive Adults Only Resort

Hyatt Zilara Cancun

Article Written By Brittany James – Always5Star Jr.

It had been about 11 years since my husband, and I took a trip together. When our friends asked us if we wanted to go on a couples trip to Cancun, Mexico, we jumped on the opportunity! Yes, we had been on family vacations, went camping, took our kids on overnights, but it had been a while since we had mommy and daddy time.

We were excited thrilled at the chance and said yes before even knowing anything else. When we found out we’d be staying at the Hyatt Zilara Cancun, all-inclusive, ADULTS ONLY resort, our excitement grew! The Hyatt Zilara Cancun is an Always5Star property! I want to highlight some of my favorite features from our home away from home while in Cancun, Mexico!

🌟 Rooms

When booking this trip I knew I wanted to stay in a room with an ocean view and a luxurious feel! After all, when you have young kids the chance to travel together alone doesn’t happen often so you have to splurge a little! After reviewing the 9 room options we decided on the Ocean Front Luxury Suite King.

When we walked into our room we looked at each other and knew our room choice was Always5Star…I’ll let the pictures show you why! The balcony was my favorite spot to start and end a day! We slept with the sliding door open so we could hear the waves!

Well, hello…gorgeous view!

I wasn’t relaxed at all 😉

In addition to the breathtaking panoramic ocean views and king size bed, (we only have a Queen bed at home lol), two other reasons we chose the Ocean Front Luxury Suite King was because of the reserved beach cabana (normally there is a fee to reserve this type of cabana) and exclusive access to the gourmet restaurant Chef’s Plate. I’ll share more about this restaurant later!

Which cabana will be yours?

The beach cabana was a wonderful amenity! Your cabana is assigned based on your room number. The beds are extremely comfortable and it’s a nice place to nap and enjoy the soothing sounds of the waves!

🌟 Pool

As a parent, the pool is a stressful place to be with your kids! You are constantly on guard making sure your kids aren’t drowning. I don’t usually get in the pool because that is a green light for my kids to climb all over me and splash me in the face 238 times. So, one of my main goals when at the Hyatt Zilara Cancun was to have lots of pool time! Luckily, their pool is absolutely gorgeous and was so fun to spend our days by!

Pool and beach view!?! Yes, please!

All around the pool are cabanas! These are first come first serve. The cabanas by the swim-up bar go quickly! These were the perfect spots to set up camp for the day! We would also save a few of the lounge chairs that were in the water to use for laying out! It really was the perfect set up!

5StarTip🌟:

Get up early and grab your lounge chair and set your towels and a couple of waters on it to reserve it!

We loved hanging out in these cabanas during our afternoons at the pool!

The pool is cut into two areas but each side is easily accessible! One side has the swim-up bar, a beautiful waterfall feature with statues and a spectacular view of the beach! The other side has a water volleyball net and is the side they have the poolside entertainment throughout the day! They have trivia, volleyball games, and our favorite was the water aerobics!

Early morning pool time! Loved the mariachi band statues!
5StarTip🌟:

Friday afternoons are the pool foam party! This is held in the pool with the volleyball net. Poolside cabanas are available to rent for a fee. It comes with a bottle of champagne! This is the only time you have to pay for a pool cabana! Any of the staff can assist you with reserving one! Be ready to dance and have a great time!

One thing you should know is there is no food service at the pool. They do not allow it. However, there is the restaurant Pelicanos is next to the pool so it’s not hard to find food when hungry!

5StarTip🌟:

My most important pool tip – order the drink called Purple Rain! I was telling everyone about it and by the end of the trip, all of our new friends were drinking it! You’ll love it! A Hyatt Zilara Cancun must!! Cheers!

🌟 Entertainment

During our stay, we had the opportunity to see two shows put on by the talented staff at the Hyatt Zilara Cancun! They were impressive! The shows are performed in the lobby of the hotel! Great music and trapeze work that will leave you in awe! Seating is first come first serve!

One of the nights was karaoke night! This is incredibly entertaining! I highly recommend grabbing a table and watching all the performances. Lots of laughing, singing, and dancing!

🌟 Restaurants

When staying at the Hyatt Zilara Cancun, you have 6 different restaurant options! We didn’t have the chance to try all of them but we enjoyed all the food we had!

Spice

Spice is where we had breakfast every morning! The buffet was expansive! They had an omelet bar, cold cereal, and pastries, french toast, pancakes…really anything you could want! Plus you could enjoy breakfast with a mimosa! They are open for breakfast, lunch, and dinner.

Pelicanos

Pelicanos is where we ate the most! We loved eating on the beach with the view of the turquoise water! It is an open-air restaurant so it can be a bit hot but most of the restaurant is shaded! Plus, this is the restaurant next to the pool so it was easy to just throw on a cover-up and get lunch! All their food was so fresh! They are also open for breakfast, lunch, and dinner.

Asiana

This is where you go when you are craving Sushi, Sashimi or Asian cuisine. We made a reservation to dine where they had a Teppanyaki cooking show! I highly recommend this! The cooks were funny, talented and entertaining! This was one of our favorite meals! The steak was some of the best steaks I’ve had! If you would like to experience this make sure to make a reservation when you check-in! It’s required!

Casa Del Café

Need an afternoon pick me up? This is the place to go! Great coffee and baked goods! You have to get the gelato!! My goodness, it was delicious! The perfect treat to cool off with! Casa Del Café is open from 6am-11pm.

I would like one of each of your baked goods, thank you! Lol

Loved how they decorated!

Chef’s Plate

This was the most Always5Star dining experience we had! You can only dine here when staying in one of their premium suites.

Here you experience the Executive Chef’s five-course set menu. Each week the menu changes and each day of the week is a different menu. There is a sommelier available to help with wine selections.

It is an open kitchen concept so you can see the Chef is hard at work creating his masterpiece! There are only 12 people a night (give or take a few) that get this dining experience. Everyone is seated at a beautifully decorated table together.

Chef's Plate chefs

This is the ultimate foodie experience. If you are a picky eater you may want to skip this dining option lol…a reservation is required! I recommend making it when you check in because space is so limited.

🌟 Hyatt Zilara Cancun Service

When researching our trip one thing that kept coming up was the quality service from the staff at the Hyatt Zilara Cancun and I am happy to report everyone was right! The staff was unbelievable! Kind, attentive, and they would predict your needs before you even knew you needed it…it was wonderful!

Cheers to the amazing staff at the Hyatt Zilara Cancun!!

Final Thoughts

When you need that time away from work, kids, life stresses…you want to find a place that will allow you to leave those life worries behind! Hyatt Zilara Cancun allows just that! Cancun, Mexico can be a bit wild and crazy but when you are at the Hyatt you are in your own bubble of luxury, great food and afternoons of poolside fun! Cheers to you having this Always5Star luxury Cancun stay! 🥂
