About BOTTAIA Winery
In October of 2016, construction began on this new Temecula Valley winery. They were inspired by the luxury and refinement of Northern Italy. Attention to detail and the desire to have the winery modeled after traditional Palladian architectural principles caused construction to take sixteen months but, was it worth the wait! The buildings at BOTTAIA winery are described as modern barns that offer a chic, contemporary and voguish design.
Wonder how they got the name BOTTAIA? BOTTAIA means cask-aging room in Italian which is their winemaking philosophy. Their website describes their winemaking process as – “aging of the wine takes place in large format concrete and oak vats and casks in a state-of-the-art facility. BOTTAIA produces over a dozen single-varietal Italian wines and blends, all sourced from our estate vineyards in Temecula Wine Country.”

When you arrive at BOTTAIA Winery, it will be evident that this winery is a unique presence in Temecula Valley. The bright white buildings are striking against the colors of the hills and vineyards around BOTTAIA.
How To Enjoy A Day At BOTTAIA
BOTTAIA Winery is exclusive and reservation-based (reservations can be made online in advance) so when you first enter the main building you will check-in for your day! From there, you will walk into the gorgeous elegance of the club lounge. The minimalist design and decor add to the luxurious vibe of BOTTAIA. The expansive windows at the end of the room frame the views of the terrace and gorgeous vineyards perfectly!

The Terrace
The terrace was my absolute favorite spot! The views there are incredible and make me feel so grateful to live in Temecula! The comfy outdoor chairs and couches offer a perfect place to relax and enjoy a romantic day date, gather with friends, or for a girl’s afternoon full of conversations and laughter. In my case, my Mom and I had a Mother and Daughter day that was memorable and special for both of us. The terrace is well shaded so that you can enjoy it any time of year, especially with Temecula Valley’s pleasant weather!

The Pool
One feature that makes BOTTAIA Winery unique to other Temecula Valley wineries is their pool! While the winery itself is 21 & older, the pool is family-friendly and even has it’s own entrance so you do not have to walk through the winery to get there! The pool area has a covered café and cocktail bar (offers casual California and Italian-inspired small plates and entreés ) and poolside games as well! You can rent also reserve a private cabine* for the day at The Pool at BOTTAIA. It’s the perfect way to have an Always5Star family day!
* Cabines: A private changing room that includes a shower, bath amenities, hairdryer, power outlet for phone charging and hair drying, and a safe place to leave your belongings.

Tasting Experiences
BOTTAIA Winery has interactive and immersive wine tasting experiences! We had the great opportunity to experience the Wine Blending Lab and the Seated Tasting & Charcuterie Pairing! Next time I would love to experience the Barrel Room tasting! During the Barrel Room tasting, you taste the effects of aging has on the wine!
Wine Blending Lab
If you have always dreamed of the opportunity to make your own wine then this is for you! The wine lab is an exciting experience! You enter a lab, yes a lab…I told you this was going to be fantastic…there are funnels and beakers and cylinders…you put your lab coat on and prepare to become a mad scientist of wine!
You are offered 4 tastings of different red wines. You will learn about their wines and take notes on whether the wine is low or high in categories such as tannins, body, fruit, etc. A personal one on one educational wine moment you will not want to miss!
Now that you have tried the 4 wines, you have 3 empty wine glasses which give you 3 chances to create your own blend based on what you liked about the 4 sampled wines. This is when the funnels, beakers and cylinders come into play! On your note sheet, you can keep track of how much of each wine you included so you know for your next blend if you want to remove one of the 4 wines from your blend, increase an amount or decrease an amount. Out of the three blends you created, you pick one to bottle and take home!
One fun surprise from this experience is you get to design your own wine label! I’m not super artistic but I thought it was wonderful to create my own label and put it on my bottle! You also get to cork your bottle too!

Seated Tasting & Charcuterie Pairing
Located in a beautiful, bright, crisp room with windows overlooking the terrace and vineyard, is where you will enjoy wine tasting and charcuterie pairing! I love food and I love wine so this was an amazing experience for me!
You can pick from 3 charcuterie plates and have 5 high quality, BOTTAIA wines paired with the delicious food items on your plate! It lasts 2 hours and you’ll wish you had even more time. This is also where you see the passion and knowledge the staff at BOTTAIA has for their wines!
